Death Investigation

On July 18, 2025 at around 09:45 PM Lee County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a shooting on Mikado Road in the Mayesville Area of Lee County.  Upon arriving on scene Deputies located a female victim that had sustained a gunshot wound.  The victim, Carol Wilson Baker (age 60) of Lee County was pronounced deceased at the scene as a result of the injuries sustained.  Investigators learned that the victim and suspect were in a relationship and that while traveling on Mikado Road the suspect shot the victim while she was driving.  The suspect then carjacked another vehicle in the area and fled the scene.  The suspect, Jamie Allen (age 53) of Lee County, is currently being sought by the Lee County Sheriff's Office.  Investigators have obtained warrants on Jamie Allen for Murder, Possession of a Weapon During a Violent Crime, and Carjacking.  Allen is believed to be armed and dangerous.  If anyone has any information about the whereabouts of Allen you are asked to contact law enforcement.
