Death Investigation Update

The Lee County Sheriff's Office has arrested Jamie Allen (age 53) of Lee County in connection with the shooting death of Carol Wilson Baker.  On July 19, 2025 the vehicle that Allen carjacked was located in Cumberland County, NC.  On July 20, 2025 Jamie Allen was taken into custody in Wake County, NC.  Allen is currently being held in Wake County, NC for warrants from Lee County for Murder, Possession of a Weapon During a Violent Crime, and Carjacking.  Lee County Sheriff's Office is in contact with Wake County Officials and are awaiting Allen to undergo the extradition process at which time he will be transported back to Lee County, SC.  

The Lee County Sheriff's Office would like thank the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED), North Carolina Highway Patrol, North Carolina State Bureau Of Investigations, and Wake County Sheriff's Office foe their assistance in locating the carjacked vehicle and Allen.
